Living Acres Farm
CSA A la Carte
In a traditional CSA (community supported agriculture) people pay a large sum upfront and get a share of whatever is in season each week. In this model, people sometimes get veggies that they don't like and not enough of what they like. Our a la carte CSA model gives people flexibility and control over their vegetable share.
In our CSA, you pay $200 before the season starts and get a 5% bonus added to you share, so you will have $210 to spend.
When the season starts you can go on the website and order from the "CSA order page". The orders can be placed anytime from Saturday evening to Monday evening. You can get as much or as little as you want. If you miss a week, that is no problem. When the harvest is plentiful you will have the option of buying 1, 2, 3 or more of certain vegetables and bulk items like cucumbers/tomatoes etc. at a discount. Each week your order total will be subtracted from your "account" and you will also get a paper invoice with your order.
The harvest season begins around the end of May or beginning of June, and lasts until the end of October. The vegetable offerings are seasonal. Typically, there are a lot of greens early in the season, but the variety increases as the season continues.
Pick up day is on Tuesdays between 1pm-7pm. Your order will be in a wax box with your name on it.
U-pick flower and herbs are free and part of the CSA membership. We plant lot's of basil, cilantro, dill, and parsley to go with your veggies.
If you use up all the money in your CSA account before the season is over you can: a) pay each week for your order b) put it on your "tab" and I'll send you a bill later.
If you don't use up all your CSA funds they will be transferred to next year.
We have a limited number of shares available. Please make the payment by April 1st.
